___________

In my artwork, I explore the topics of migration, immigration, borders and reflected duality as a person in a new homeland. The divine characters that mostly appear in my artwork represent the connection that exists between land and the collectivism that we are a part of, inspired by Zapotec tales told by my elders from Sierra Sur of Oaxaca. These stories tell our unity with nature and question the system of modern society and their inclination on individualism and consumerism. —Pavel Acevedo

___________

I’m a printmaker artist based in Los Angeles California. My formal education started in Oaxaca, Mexico as a student of Rufino Tamayo workshop and will concluded at “Fine Arts School of Oaxaca city”. My artwork has been showcased through the United States, in public and private spaces through the state of California, Texas and New York to mention some of them and countries like Mexico and Colombia. As an independent art educator I’ve been part of education programs with non profit organizations such as “I learn America”, Self Help Graphics & Plaza de la raza.
