"Painting and drawing are the end product of the practice of taking time, of walking around, of taking note of change. Sometimes travel becomes a part of this process--experiencing the richness of places, cultures and languages not my own."

Sara Post studied painting, drawing and printmaking as an undergraduate and earned master's degrees in ceramics and education at Northern Arizona University. In 1981 she and her husband, artist Thomas Post, organized T.S. Post Ceramics, a studio pottery in Davis, California. The studio, consisting of the Posts and several artist/employees made functional and sculptural pieces that over the next twenty five years were sold in galleries across the United States and Canada as well as in Italy and Japan. Sara left T.S. Post in 2008 to pursue an interest in two dimensional painting and drawing.

Sara is an adult art instructor at the Davis Arts Center in Davis, California and offers summer workshops in abstract cold wax painting at the Mendocino Art Center in Mendocino, California. She curates exhibits for the Davis Arts Center Tsao Gallery and and for The Artery, an arts co-operative in Davis. She was amont the founders of the current Davis Art Studio Tour and was chair in 2014 and 2015.

Sara Post lives with her husband and extended multi-generational family in a rambling house in Davis, California surrounded by redwood trees, tree houses, gardens and a deep pool.
