"Your Work is to discover your work and then with all your heart give yourself to it" Buddha

I am a lover of experimentation and have absorbed into. my visual arsenal a great many materials which are the products of this persistent need to move forward, to discover and unfold what I do not already know.

Influential artists: Joseph Raffael, Sharon Booma, Odilon Redon, Vermeer, Rembrandt, Squeak Carnwath, Cy Twombly, Matisse...

I have had the great privilege of being in the orbit of my 3 great spiritual mentors. It was they who set me firmly on my direction in fine art and art education.

I was an only child, whose father was a 22 year marine who, when retiring, went to art school. I grew up loving art.

I am primarily a mixed media artist who incorporates an ever expanding arsenal of materials and media in my art. I love the adventure of uncertainty when I began a painting or drawing. The ability to take an internal journey with my work excites me and always leads to unexpected results. Pieces often manifest imagery and a visual vocabulary that is the result of a lifelong personal spiritual journey.

My professional responsibilities include a full teaching schedule of classes and workshops in multiple media. World wide circumstances have necessitated expanding my teaching assignments to online classes and workshops. I am enjoying my increased digital capabilities and hope to continue this development. I have been an active participant inNorthern California Bay Area art communities for many years, and have in recent years broadened my teaching venues to include workshops in Florida, North Carolina, Nebraska and Washington.
