An intensive promotion workshop exclusively for independent artists.

Sunday, May 20, 10:00 - 3:00

Devote a day to deep dive into artist promotion and discoverability. In this (almost) day long class composed of casual Q&As and multiple lecture blocks, artists will learn how to get their work out of the studio and into the world through a variety of tactics and techniques designed maximize sales and get better exposure.

We'll discuss:

effective artist websites

social media marketing

artist branding

marketing ideas

the importance of merchandising

new artist services and agencies to help

gallery representation

proper pricing strategies

This class will be segmented into blocks of short lectures and discussions where artists can best utilize the group intellect (or "hive mind") for feedback and guidance. We will be looking at artist websites for critique and review in the afternoon (including class artists). This is a rare opportunity to get valuable critique on an artist's most important marketing tool.

All lectures, discussion and Q&A will be led by gallery owner Jen Tough, who has 20+ years of experience in fine arts and art direction for visually savvy large companies such as Nike and Urban Outfitters.

Artists will leave with more detailed and realistic knowledge on how to better run the promotional side of their art career, including more refined goals, how to best approach galleries, new artist contacts, and a list of resources.

Class is limited to 16 artists and will be held at Jen Tough Gallery in Benicia.

Catered artist lunch included. Lunch will be on-site.

Cost is $300 per person.
